The Calitzdorp Succulent Society is introducing its first Vetplantfees to be held in the heart of the Klein Karoo, a region where many of the succulents endemic to South Africa, can be seen in their natural environment. The event will provide a showcase of many of South Africa’s beautiful and rare succulents while succulents from all over the world will be on show. Succulent enthusiasts who visit Calitzdorp during the festival will be able to immerse themselves in a range of activities to discover the world of succulents. Whether you live in Calitzdorp, Cape Town, George or Johannesburg you will see indigenous and rare succulents in their natural habitat, buy specimens not available in nurseries, and get advice on how to propagate, grow and care for succulents in your garden.

Calitzdorp Railway Station
The festival will include:
* Veld Walks led by local experts
* Educational talks by succulent specialists
* A potted plant market hosted by growers
* An exhibition of succulent plants
* An exhibition of botanical art
* Original plant pots for sale
* Activities for children
Admission to the festival (at the Calitzdorp Station) is free. Veld Walks will be charged at R150 per person for a 90-minute walk and must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment.
Not to be missed is our range of FREE talks by plant experts on each day of the festival. Seats are available on a first come, first serve basis and interested persons must reserve a seat to attend. Only registered ticketholders will be allowed access.

The Calitzdorp Succulent Society will be hosting Veld Walks local succulent expert and guide Kevin Koen during the Vetplantfees scheduled for 23 to 25 September 2017. The 90-minute walk promise to provide participants with an introduction of the succulents of the Klein Karoo.

Booking and payment are essential as only 8 persons will be accommodated on each of the scheduled walks. The fee to join each walk is R150, payable in advance and non-refundable on cancellation.

WHERE TO MEET
Each walk will depart from the Calitzdorp Station on the time indicated.

IMPORTANT
Participants should wear shoes suitable for walking in the veld and bring water, a hat and sun protection.
