It is an experience not to be missed and have proven to be very popular with festivalgoers. Workshop – Container Gardening with Succulents
Date: Time: - Container gardening with succulents (90 minutes). This is a FUN event to uncover your creative skills and plant your own container with a selection of succulents. Alison will demonstrate how she plants a container with suitable plants and then you will have a chance to create your own. You need to bring your own container, could be a bonsai bowl, tin plate, deep drip tray, biscuit tin, etc. Comprehensive notes, soil, pebbles, and some plants for participants will be provided. However if you have any spare succulents , decorations, stones, etc, please bring them along - this is a great way to share plants and increase your collection. DURATION Workshop duration 1.5 hours. COST R50 per person BOOKING Spaces are limited to 20 persons per workshop and advance booking is essential. Book Now ABOUT ALISON JAMES Alison is an environmental educator with a passion for plants, especially succulents. She keeps busy growing succulents for the Kirstenbosch plant sales and is a volunteer Kirstenbosch garden guide. Workshop – Succulent Plant Propagation
Date: Time: - This one-hour workshop is designed to initiate interest in people to learn how to propagate succulent plants. The program will be divided into 2 parts covering Seed Growing and Vegetative Propagation (approx. 30 minutes each). The subjects will be covered in such a manner that anyone can come away with an understanding of how to prepare the material, plant and care for the newly propagated plants. Attendees will come away with newly propagated plants. DURATION Workshop duration 1.5 hours. For the past 30 years, she has been involved with growing succulent plants. She was co-owner of the Prickly Palace nursery in California and has recently moved to Calitzdorp where her passion for growing plants continues. She is a committee member and a founder of the Calitzdorp Succulent Society and is very active organizing Vetplantfees.

June General Meeting
Date: Time: - Our June meeting will be held at Jako Voges' building in Calitzdorp. At this meeting we will review some changes that are necessary to the Constitution of the Society. We will review plans for Vetplantfees and have a review of the succulents found on our outing.

March 2019 Meeting
Date: Time: - The March meeting will be held at Jako Voges building at 10 Geyser St. in Calitzdorp. The meeting will begin at 14:00 and last for about 1 1/2 hours. At this meeting, we will explore ways to propagate succulent plants by vegetative means. Everyone will go home with cuttings.

February 2019 Meeting
Date: Time: - The February meeting of the Society will focus on Aloe seed propagation. We will discuss proper methods for sewing seed and care of the resulting seedlings. Members are invited to bring seeds from their own collections. There should be plently of seed available for members to take planted pots home. At this meeting we will be selling left over plants from Vetplantfees. Members will get special low prices on select plants.

Date: Time: - Small is beautiful. About miniature succulents and how they survive in nature. Expert Talk – Frans Noltee Saturday 22 September – 11:00 This is a free event. No booking required. Frans Noltee became interested in photography and succulent plants at about the same time, somewhere in the mid 1950’s. Since then, the two hobbies have played an important role in his life. The combination has led to many endeavors including travels to many countries, lectures, articles, books and workshops. Follow Frans on his blog at www.enjoysucculents.com. He will entertain with a documentation of Planys of the Klein Karoo.
